Birthday letter to my dearest princess

Happy 5th Birthday C.A.!!

To you my dearest princess, we've been through a hell of ups & down. I wanna say sorry for all the disappointments I've caused you especially when I wasn't able to fulfill my dream for you - having a complete family (biological mom & dad + you). Sorry anak, di ko kasi kinaya lahat ng sakit ng nakaraan, someday you'll gonna know and understand everything about the story of the past. But hey, just so you know, we can still be called a family nevertheless since real definition of family doesn't only bind with the connection of blood. Family is the people in your life, who want you theirs; the one who accept you for who you are & the ones who would do anything to see you smile and who loves you no matter what.  Andyan si caleb, si dada, mama, lolo, tito jr at tito caycay diba? Di lang halata pero sobrang love ka nila. Sorry for the dramatic intro anak. Anyway, Happiest 5th birthday to you! though hindi ganun kagarbo atleast makita kitang masaya at malusog ayos na ayos na ako. Di man natin inaasahan ung nagyari kahapon still we manage to celebrate your birthday and ang mahalaga you are okay now - Very very okay! Thankful that all the lab test were negative! Tsaka Diba may elsa cake ka pa tapos all the staff on the hospital greeted you a happy birthday plus the doctor gave you a key chain dog. :)

Happy happy birthday anak! I know I am strong because of you and I will continue to be strong (much! much pa!) para sa inyo ni caleb. I really love you, always will. To the infinity and beyond nga ang peg natin kahit madalas tayong aso't pusa. Walang sawang bangayan. Haha pero sa totoo lang, I love you anak! Always & Forever! I hope you'll grow as fine lady who loves God eternally. May God bless you always!

                Love,
                Mommy

Marikina Attractions: Mama Chit's Coffee House

One beautiful Sunday afternoon of June 07, 2015, when me & him decided to push through on our usual stroll via our motorcycle. We went to Mama Chitts Coffe House which is one of the popular places to eat in Marikina City. How do I know about Mama Chit's? It was actually featured before on various TV programs.

Since my husband loves burger, we really push through on this journey. Anyway, Mama chit's is located at the main road of San Roque, Marikina. It is just few steps away from Our Lady of the Abandoned Church (OLA).

Mama Chit's of Marikina
What I love the most about Mama Chit's (aside from their big and delicious burger) is their collection of their vintage items which serves as their restaurant decor. They have old sign boards, coca-cola collection, metal flat-iron, old radio, etc.

Every pain has a purpose

It all started when I'm 19, I went out with a guy who was 1 year younger than me and was probably my first proper experience of dating and so called thing - "relationship". My family didn't know about everything that happen in between on that relationship. The relationship lasted a couple of years but I leave the relationship when I couldn't stand the pain it gives me. I must admit he was the source of my happiness yet he was also the reason of my misery that time. It was actually 2010 when I learned there is someone else he was seeing - it was also the year when our daughter seen the world for the very first time. Oh imagine the pain it gave me plus the pain I have to endure facing everyone in the family and people around me.

Looking back to all those painful scenarios, I'm thankful that I wasn't able to commit suicide. It's true that every pains you've endure become your cure in the long run. I must say that I am much stronger now and happy as well. Thankful that God gave me strength to face all those dark days. Thankful that I have people around me that inspire me and help me to continue to explore the world. Now, as I am writing this, I have my own family with 2 beautiful kids (my daughter & my son ) whom I spent almost all my time. I'm very grateful to the man that God have given me because he accepted me for who I am - past, present & future. Really, God is so great!

So to everyone who's into dark days because of failed relationships & other reason,
Remember: "Pick up yourself and don't rely on someone else for your happiness and self-worth or your reason for being because I tell  you can be happy without them."

Note: (if you can able to read this) "to you, praying & hoping you find your own happiness as well. Thank you for all those experiences - best & worst - it mold me to the person who I am now.  God bless! "

Quotation Treasure # 4 : Stop Worrying

source

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain"

Stop worrying cause it is useless. When you feel sad and your world is turning upside down, PRAY because only God can help you. Focus on purpose behind the problem, not on the problem itself. Remember: It's great to count small miracles in life rather than exert effort on frowning 'coz of the trials you have in life.

Antipolo Attractions: Old Boso Boso Church

Last May 09, 2015, when we decided to went to an old church at Antipolo named Nuestra Senora de la Anunciata Parish or popularly known as Boso Boso Church via our mighty ride zuki. Actually, it was my idea to go there since I fell in love with it the moment I saw it online. The church is situated at Old Boso-Boso, Barangay San Jose in Antipolo City, Rizal, Philippines.

Boso Boso Church
Boso Boso Church - Facade

According to wikipedia:
The first church was built as a mission church by the Franciscan missionaries sometime in the late 16th to early 17th century. The Jesuits eventually took over the mission there in the 17th century who began constructing a new church made of stone and brick, It was turned over to the seculars in 1768 when the Jesuits were expelled from the Philippines.
In 1880, an earthquake caused significant damage to the church. Owing to the dwindling population in the area, the damaged portions of the church were not rebuilt.

In 1930, the Americans planned to build a dam in Boso Boso, Thus, the remaining inhabitants were ordered to resettle elsewhere. The dam project was eventually abandoned due to a discovered earthquake fault line, yet the people did not return until the time of the Japanese occupation. Even then, whatever that was left of the church was subsequently burned down by the Japanese, leaving only the lower portion of the original church facade intact.

As the area was eventually resettled, administration of the parish was taken over by the Camillian order in 1986 who helped organize the restoration of the church. Restoration was completed in 1995, preserving the original remaining faƧade of the old church with the rebuilt portions built as close as possible to the simple, sparse architecture of the old structure.

When I saw the church personally, I felt really captivated and it was like going back to old times. I totally love it - the church facade, the altar, the giant trees, the community around the church, and the fresh air. I must say that it is one of the worthy places to visit in Antipolo. I wish we could go back there again soon.

Good morning sunshine!

When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive - to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love. - Marcus Aurelius

One Sunday morning, we wake up early than the usual coz you told me we are off to go somewhere. We wear the helmet,  I wrap my hand around your waist and you started the engine. Minutes of a long ride, we stop and you let me captured the beautiful sunrise at the highest peak of the road at Antipolo. I gazed to the eternal blue sky, with beautiful sunrise and sea of clouds and thankfully whispering to HIM that it is indeed a blessed day.  I have witnessed one of the beautiful sunrise in my life.  I must admit I like this new experience, wandering through the city with your hand in mine.

Good morning sunshine!

9 Tips On Saving Your Money

It's been half a month now after we welcomed 2015. Most of the people tend to put on their new year resolution the goal of saving money. It always a cycle yearly - save money, invest, live within our means, etc. But honestly, how many of us turned this goal into reality? Anyway, below is the list of simple tips on how to save some money.

1. Record your expenses. So grab a notebook and jot down all your day-to-day expenses since the first step in saving money is to know how much you are spending.

2. Plan on saving money. Actually, our savings should be deducted first once we got your salary. It's like paying our self first. Standard formula for us to save is Income - Savings = Expenses not the other way around which is Income - Expenses = Saving.

3. Set savings goals. Be sure to know, why you are saving. Is it for your child education, retirement or anything? This would really help you achieve your goal.

4. Make a budget and do stick with it. Do create budget for your grocery, your daily work expense, etc.

5. Decide on your priorities.

6. Live within your means. Always!

7. Make saving money easier with automatic transfers.  This can be tied - up into your payroll account so you'll have an automatic and force savings. - Wasn't able to do it since the company's bank branch is from ParaƱaque while our office location is here in Taguig.

8. Different savings and investment strategies  for different goals. Do create different account for your saving purposes. I actually have an ATM account for emergency needs, then another bank account for short term saving goal & and I have a VUL - a mutual fund and life insurance at the same time for long term saving goals. I am also planning to venture into Mutual Funds and other investment products. I hope budget will allow me. =)

9. Last, watch your savings grow.

Also, be sure to have discipline and continue doing the tips above so your savings will double up. Hope this might help you! How about you, what saving tips you can share to us?

January: On Being Healthy

If you're actually gonna ask me how was our January. It is actually a rough road. The whole entire family got sick - I was included on the list. Maybe, it was because of the humid & cold weather. So cold that almost all the Filipino got flu and colds. Anyway, My baby boy was the one who got sick the most . He's fever was on & off plus the cough, colds & diarrhea. We already went to his Pedia but unfortunately looks like he doesn't get well. Last January 15 (during papal visit), we rushed to the nearby hospital because he has a high fever with lots of red spots on his skin. We actually thought that it might be dengue since the symptoms are relative to it. But after the health specialist examined his blood and stool, thank God that it wasn't caused by dengue nor his diarrhea wasn't caused by amoebiasis. So how was that incident related to money? Do you know the saying that "Health is wealth" right? It's very very true! Health really ensembles our wealth. If you're super duper rich yet your health suffer, for sure your money will be gone to soon. Yet when you are happy and healthy, you could acquire much more wealth and spend it on the things you've ever wanted. Anyway, that incident actually cause us almost 5k - prescribed milk & medicines only. It's one big "uh" to our family budget - you already know the reason why. So what measure do we do to prevent this things to happen again? Below is the list of things of staying healthy and happy:
  1. Always making sure that the 2 kiddos drink their vitamins including us, adults.
  2. Eat healthy food always. We almost eat vegetables, fish and fruits everyday.
  3. Lots of lots of water to drink since it helps us to wash away the toxin in our body.
  4. Have an enough sleep - so we are making sure that they get 8 - 10 hours a day of sleep plus a nap time in the afternoon.
  5. Make them play outside. This will serve their exercise.
It is really hard when someone in the family is sick. So let's should be wary of the things we do to our body. As the saying says, "Health is wealth". I hope this February will be very good to us.So how about you guys, what have you experienced last month?
